Welcome to Revive Therapies, my name is Nicola Stevenson and I live and work in Prestonpans, East Lothian.
In January 2016, I worked full time as a dental nurse and decided to pursue my passion to study massage therapy. I began studying a Diploma in Swedish massage with Scottish massage schools, Edinburgh. I have since enhanced my skills and completed Indian Head massage and Remedial and Sports massage as well as Reflexology. I am currently studying Advanced Remedial massage to be completed December 2019.
I previously worked at OMH therapies, Edinburgh where I gained both experience and knowledge working alongside other therapists trained in a variety of massage skills.
Alongside my training I have had the opportunity to work with professional athletes, support charity organisations such as Moonwalk Scotland and Home-Start East Lothian.
Alongside my training I have had the opportunity to work with professional athletes, which gave me a great insight into sports massage, treatment and recovery.
In March 2019 I attended the SMTO (Scottish Massage Therapist Organisation) conference in Perth for 4 days for additional training in Advanced Massage techniques and neurological testing.
Swedish Massage is a relaxing treatment that can be a full body treatment or covering specific areas such as back, neck and shoulders, arm and hand, legs and feet or any combination desired. Pressure can be varied to suit each individual, this will be discussed during consultation and throughout treatment. Swedish Massage is a great treatment for reducing both physical and emotional stress.
Remedial and Sports massage is a deeper massage which involves work on the soft tissue with various techniques. A complex consultation and assessment is carried out to establish the cause of pain, restriction to movement and problematic areas.
Indian Head Massage is a relaxing treatment which is great for reducing headaches, migraines and general neck tension. Techniques used focus on the acupressure points on the face and scalp. This treatment can be carried out full clothed and seated or on the massage couch.
Reflexology is a complementary health therapy suitable for almost all. Reflexology helps to restore the body's natural balance by working on specific points on the feet.Each treatment will be tailored to the individual
